Sweet Soy–Glazed Bone-In Pork Chops with Sesame Chinese Broccoli

- 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
- salt
- black pepper
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 lb chinese broccoli
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- sesame seeds
- 2 stalks green onions
How to Make It
- 1Season pork chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 3Sear pork chops for 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- 4Remove and set aside.
- 5In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, sautéing briefly until fragrant.
- 6Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar.
- 7Stir and bring to a simmer.
- 8Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then add to the pan.
- 9Cook until the glaze thickens.
- 10Return pork chops to the pan and coat with the glaze.
- 11Simmer for 2–3 minutes until glossy.
- 12Meanwhile, steam or blanch Chinese broccoli until tender-crisp, about 3–4 minutes.
- 13Toss broccoli with sesame oil and soy sauce.
- 14Serve pork chops with sesame Chinese broccoli and spoon extra glaze over the top.
- 15Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
