Grilled Sirloin Skewers with Blistered Shishito Peppers

- 1 ½ lb sirloin steak
- 8 oz shishito peppers
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- black pepper
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- sesame seeds
- 2 stalks green onions
How to Make It
- 1If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 15 minutes.
- 2In a bowl, mix soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- 3Add steak cubes to the marinade and toss to coat.
- 4Let marinate for 15–30 minutes.
- 5Thread steak and shishito peppers alternately onto skewers.
- 6Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- 7Lightly brush skewers with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- 8Grill skewers for 8–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until steak reaches desired doneness and peppers are blistered.
- 9Remove from heat and let rest briefly before serving.
- 10Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
