Deconstructed Pork Egg Roll Bowl with Crispy Wontons & Peanuts

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 4 cups green cabbage
  • 1 cup carrots
  • 3 stalks green onions
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 8 pieces wonton wrappers
  • neutral oil
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts
  • sesame seeds
  • sriracha

How to Make It

  1. 1Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. 2Add ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. 3Add garlic and ginger to the pork and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. 4Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil, mixing well to coat the pork.
  5. 5Add shredded cabbage and carrots to the skillet.
  6. 6Cook for 5–7 minutes until vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
  7. 7Stir in green onions and additional soy sauce.
  8. 8Remove from heat.
  9. 9Heat oil in a small pan and fry wonton strips until golden and crispy.
  10. 10Drain on paper towels.
  11. 11Assemble bowls with pork and vegetable mixture as the base.
  12. 12Top with crispy wontons, chopped peanuts, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sriracha if desired.
  13. 13Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
