Texas Steakhouse Toast with Smashed Red Potatoes & Onion Gravy

- 4 pieces sirloin or ribeye steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt

- 4 slices thick-cut bread
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 ½ lb red potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- 2 medium red onion
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- salt
- black pepper
How to Make It
- 1Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2Boil red potatoes until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
- 3Drain, then place on a baking sheet and gently smash.
- 4Drizzle potatoes with olive oil and salt.
- 5Roast for 20–25 minutes until crispy.
- 6Season steaks with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- 7Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steaks for 3–5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
- 8Let rest.
- 9In another pan, melt butter and cook sliced onions over medium heat until caramelized.
- 10Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes, then gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- 11Simmer until thickened.
- 12Toast bread with butter until golden.
- 13Serve steak over toast, topped with red onion gravy, alongside smashed potatoes.
