Grilled Steakhouse Salad with Creamy Buttermilk Herb Dressing

  • 1 ¼ lb flank or sirloin steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 5 cups mixed greens
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • ¼ cup red onion
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs
  • salt
  • black pepper

How to Make It

  1. 1Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. 2Rub steak with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3Grill steak for 4–5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  4. 4Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain.
  5. 5In a bowl, whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper to make dressing.
  6. 6In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion.
  7. 7Toss salad lightly with dressing or serve dressing on the side.
  8. 8Top salad with sliced steak and serve immediately.
